BIO

My name is Catherine Stump and I studied as a voice principal at Berklee College of Music for my Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music. I am originally from Denver, Colorado and I attended high school at Denver School of the Arts also majoring in voice. I started my music career learning how to play piano and read sheet music at age 7 and then singing, dancing, and acting in musical theatre productions in/outside of school. I started participating school choirs and sang in Rocky Mountain Children's Choir for 3 years where we all toured Washington D.C. and main cities in Germany. I started taking professional voice lessons in 6th grade which truly fueled my passion for being a solo professional singer. I was trained classically, with emphasis on singing foreign languages, opera/aria art songs, and developing healthy techniques. With that, I learned how to sing contemporary styles, leaning towards jazz, r&b/soul, musical theatre, pop, rock, and funk, learning how to be a performer/entertainer and how to find my own unique voice. Mid-high school career, I was accepted into Denver School of the Arts and transferred there for 2 of my 4 years in high school. I auditioned and got accepted into Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory, one for contemporary voice, the other for classical voice. I chose to study contemporary voice at Berklee because of the endless opportunities offered to me there. Singing is definitely my passion and sharing the gift of music to others is something I take pride in.
